Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole child from Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her mother was at home as a mother. She has three older brothers: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick has always loved singing, dancing and performing performances with puppets. Her rise to fame as a fairytale began when she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 which led to an inquiry from talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who asked if she would like to work in show business. McCormick was offered her first gig as a major actress in 1964. McCormick was in a commercial for Mattels' newest doll Baby Pattaburp. The following year she starred as Chatty Cathy in a commercial which was later adapted for The Wind It Up and It's Breaks in The La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won the 1969 audition of more than 1200 children to become the youngest of three twin daughters in the TV program The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed together with Robert Reed. The show lasted for five seasons. In her autobiography Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice published in 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the shows fifth season she almost lost her virginity to her onscreen brother and co-star Barry Williams. In 2008, she revealed in her book Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice, that during season five of the show she almost lost her virginity to Barry Williams. The incident could have occurred, she told me, but the timing wasn't right for us.
